The Charles W. Morgan has a fascinating seafaring history. She was launched in 1841 at a shipyard in New Bedford, MA, and over the course of her commision, somehow managed to survive the brutal perils of both the sea and the grueling whaling trade. In fact, she is the sole survivor from over 2200 sailing Yankee whaleboats launched. Purchased by the Mystic Seaport Museum in 1941, she is still afloat today in a permanent exhibit berth at the museum. Historically accurate from bow to stern, this fully rigged, three-masted replica model is handcrafted of red cedar and skillfully hand-painted. Size: Length 24" Height 21" Width 8"Price: $489 |
